Tax Statutory Manager

The Statutory Manager is a new function with a direct report to the Head of SSC Iberia. The main task of the Statutory Manager will be to coordinate the statutory compliance tasks for Spain & Portugal with the rest of the SSC and external advisors, including the preparation of Consolidated Financial Statements and its audit.
The Role
- Leads all processes of adjusting the USGAAPs Mars primary books to local statutory accounting books for AniCura Spain and Portugal, ensuring that all legal entities meet its local statutory accounting obligations
- Leads the consolidation process under Spanish GAAP and its statutory audit. This is a new requirement being 2021 the first statutory audit for consolidation in Iberia. We currently have 38 legal entities
- Leads the preparation of filling (collaborating with other internal functions and local advisors where relevant) Local Statutory Financial Statements , including coordination of required approvals and ensures that all legal entities meet their local statutory reporting obligations
- Manages Statutory Audits of the Local Statutory Financial Statements (both individual and consolidated) and ensures that all legal entities meet their external Audit obligations
- Coordinate and harmonize the statutory accounting and reporting activities
- Take responsibility and manage Ad Hoc projects, within the financial statutory area for all entities
Key responsibilities
Local Statutory Accounting compliance
- Ensures appropriate knowledge management regarding local statutory accounting requirements (including accounting methods) within the different legal entities as well as with the external service providers
- Designs, implements and maintains processes and tools for adjusting USGAAP primary Mars books to local statutory accounting books
- Trains AniCura associates for any processes related to Local statutory reporting they are responsible for (i.e. run statutory depreciation, book adjustments, etc.)
- Collaborates effectively with other S&F functions within AniCura
- Is aware of regulatory changes in statutory accounting standards and incorporates these into the existing processes
Local Statutory Financial Statements preparation
- Leads the management of the preparation of the Local Statutory Financial Statements in compliance with local statutory reporting requirements
- Manages a network of external service providers to assist with the preparation of the local Financial Statements and ensure there is a required level of local statutory reporting expertise
- Leads and coordinates the preparation of all documents connected with the annual financial statements filling with support from other functions or external service providers
- Manages the process of filing the Local Statutory Statements with local authorities
External Audit management
- Manages the relationship with External Audit Service providers
- Plans annual External Audit activities and resources for conducting the audits on time and on budget
- Manages the External Audit in each legal entity, as well as the Consolidated FS External Audit, coordinating all activities

Candidate requirements
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- University degree/ Bachelor’s degree with additional professional accounting qualification
- 7 years plus of experience in accounting and audit. Prior experience with a Big 4 in is definite plus
- Proven experience in consolidation under Spanish GAAP gained by preparing or auditing complex Consolidated Financial Statements
- High learning agility to learn new accounting legislations building on the current expertise to create a specialist support for the business relating to statutory reporting
- Good knowledge of accounting as applicable to the business
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office
- Entrepreneurial and action oriented
- Independent and very driven
- Strong ethics, integrity and accountability
- Pet ownership desirable but not essential. Candidate must like animals
