Procurement Business Partner Med & CEE
Mars Veterinary Health is looking for a Procurement Business Partner to support the Mediterranean & Central & Eastern Europe (Med & CEE) region.
The Procurement Business Partner serves as the strategic procurement lead for the Operating Unit, partnering closely with business leaders to drive value creation, commercial performance, and operational excellence across a complex multi-country and multi-site environment. This role acts as a trusted advisor to leadership teams, translating business priorities into sourcing and procurement strategies that enhance profitability, improve supplier performance, and support sustainable growth.
The position is responsible for identifying and delivering procurement opportunities across both direct and indirect spend categories, while building strong stakeholder relationships and driving adoption of procurement best practices across the region. The role exists to enable business performance through effective supplier management, data-driven decision-making, and strategic influence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with Operating Unit and market leadership teams to understand business priorities and translate them into procurement strategies and initiatives.
• Drive value creation through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Develop and implement category strategies across direct and indirect spend areas, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Lead complex procurement projects and tenders, delivering measurable improvements in cost, quality, service, and risk management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted business partner and advisor on procurement-related matters.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate spend, standardize purchasing practices, and improve procurement governance across multiple markets and sites.
• Collaborate with regional and global procurement teams to leverage scale, best practices, and supplier partnerships.
• Support commercial and operational teams in evaluating suppliers, negotiating agreements, and managing strategic vendor relationships.
• Utilize procurement and spend analytics to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Monitor supplier performance through appropriate KPIs, ensuring service excellence and continuous improvement.
• Support change management initiatives and drive stakeholder adoption of procurement programs, tools, and policies.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contractual obligations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Represent and role-model Mars values and principles in all interactions, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• The job responsibilities include board positions that may be required according to the needs of the company, as well as any tasks or representations for or on behalf of the company that may be required for the company to conduct its business.
Job Specifications/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
Preferred: Professional Procurement certification (e.g., CIPS, ISM, CPSM or equivalent).
5+ years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, or Procurement Business Partnering roles.
Experience operating in a multi-site, multi-country, or matrix organization.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Strong strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to influence and build trusted relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
Experience delivering measurable commercial value through procurement initiatives.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret spend and performance data to support decision-making.
Experience managing complex stakeholder environments and leading change initiatives.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities, and a fast-paced business environment.
Experience in healthcare, veterinary, pharmaceutical distribution, retail, services, or other multi-site industries is highly desirable.
Willingness to travel across the region as required.
